Upcycled Holiday Cards
Happy New Year! Time to start fresh; purge, clean, make goals, and start checking that list off! Holiday décor is put away and time to tackle the leftovers…what do you do with your holiday cards? I have seen a variety of uses over the years. Some sentimentalists keepsake them in albums, scrapbook them, file the cards into boxes labeled by year…I however, have an upcycled tradition that I put to use, that I learned from my Mom. We reminisce over the cards and enjoy them the whole season.
Once the holiday is over, the photo cards are separated from the traditional cards. We keep the photo cards in a memory box, but the traditional cards are upcycled into gift tags. They are so beautiful, there is no reason to see them go to waste and they do make beautiful gift tags, which is something necessary for gift wrapping! Try to use as much as the card, so there is little waste. The unusable parts and trimmings can usually be thrown in the recycled bin. Voila, not only do they look stunning, we never have to invest in tags!
What do you do with your cards after the sentiment? Happy 2014!!!
